Biography

Professor Waldron’s group uses capillary electrophoresis laser-based detection mass spectrometry to identify proteins and peptides of biological importance. The group develops enzyme microreactors and methods for microscale sample preparation and separation applications in environmental biomolecule analyses. Her research projects include sustainable approaches for turning old graphite anodes into new lithium-ion batteries and the characterization of regenerable amine solvents used for CO2 and SO2 capture. Waldron also examines comprehensive techniques for protein separation and characterization, particularly employing analytical chemistry to understand biomolecules and their interactions. Her extensive experience in proteomics and biochemistry enriches her teaching and supervision of master's and doctoral students, contributing significantly to the academic community's understanding of molecular sciences.
