Dr. Karen Zwi

Biography

Karen Zwi is a Conjoint Professor in the School of Women's & Children's Health at the University of New South Wales. She holds a Medical Bachelor and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Witwatersrand University, a Master of Science (MSc) from London, a Master of Medicine (MMed) from Witwatersrand, and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Her research primarily focuses on the long-term determinants of health and wellbeing in refugees and children. She is actively involved as a Chairperson for the Refugee Child Health Policy Group and has memberships within various professional organizations related to child health and welfare. Karen's work addresses the inequities in childhood disease and injury rates, emphasizing population health and early intervention programs. Additionally, she contributes to medical education and indigenous health initiatives.
