Karène Sanchez-Summerer is a Professor specializing in Middle Eastern studies at the University of Groningen, an esteemed institution founded in 1614 that ranks among the top 100 universities globally. With a focus on the history of the modern Middle East, her research and teaching interests encompass Christian Arab communities, social history in Ottoman Mandate Palestine, and the dynamics of minorities in the Middle East and their diasporas. She is particularly passionate about engaging with multilateral and transnational connections, emphasizing the importance of understudied national historiographies.
