Karim Larose is an Associate Professor in the Department of French Literature at the University of Montreal. He completed a Master's degree on Quebec poetry in 1998, followed by a Doctorate on the history of language discourse and the relationships between language and literature in Quebec in 2003. After conducting postdoctoral research at Laval University (2003-2005), he became the Canada Research Chair in Quebec literature and cultural discourse from 2005 to 2010. Since 2008, he has directed the Gaston-Miron Archives Center, which houses a unique collection of various media documents about Quebec literature and culture broadcast by Radio-Canada from the 1930s to the 2000s. His current research focuses on modern and contemporary Quebec poetry, exploring its connections to other arts, reception issues, and cultural discourse. He is preparing a book about the figurative regimes in poetic genre within Quebec. Larose has been involved with the editorial board of Globe, an international journal of Quebec studies, since 2004, serving as co-director and then director from 2007 to 2010.
