Dr. Karin Frodé

Biography

Karin Frodé is a Lecturer and Clinical Supervisor at Monash University, specializing in International Human Rights Law. She is affiliated with the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law and the Faculty's International Law Interest Group. Frodé holds a PhD in International Human Rights Law from Monash University, and her academic background includes a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford and an LLB in Human Rights Law from the University of Essex. As an Australian lawyer, she was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2020. Frodé has worked in research and policy advocacy across countries such as the UK, Thailand, and Australia and has undergone training at the Hague Academy of International Law and Harvard Law School. She co-founded the Ham Diley Campaign, which amplifies calls for accountability in relation to atrocity crimes in Afghanistan, and has recently published articles pertaining to International Criminal Law. Frodé's teaching commitment at Monash includes Foundations of Law, Constitutional Law, and specialized law clinics. She is also involved in professional development programs and serves on editorial boards within her field, contributing significantly to academia and human rights advocacy.
