Karina Liechti is an Associated Senior Research Scientist at the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE). Her professional focus lies in sustainability governance, particularly concerning the management and stewardship of natural resources. Her research areas include governance frameworks, commons, land use, and landscape change. She is also engaged in examining societal transformation processes, offering insights into traditional irrigation systems, pastoralism, transhumance, and the management of protected areas. Furthermore, her work extends to cultural landscapes, mountain agriculture, and strategies for conflict transformation and mediation.
