Biography

Karl Koenig, M.D., M.S., is a specialist in the treatment of hip and knee arthritis, primarily focusing on revision joint replacement surgery. He has a special interest in treating periprosthetic fractures and prosthetic joint infections. Koenig received his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 2009 and underwent fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at Stanford University Medical Center in 2010. He holds a Master of Science in evaluative clinical sciences from the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, where he began his work on patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness research. Koenig is a fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
