Karl Weiss is a microbiologist and infectious diseases specialist at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, and a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Throughout his career, he has participated in over 500 conferences both nationally and internationally and published approximately 400 abstracts and articles in prestigious journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and Clinical Infectious Diseases. His research primarily focuses on respiratory infections, antibiotics, and antimicrobial resistance, often being among the first in Canada to work with emerging antibiotics. Weiss is a prominent member of several associations related to microbiology and infectious diseases, receiving numerous accolades for his contributions to the field.
