Biography

Karoly Bezdek is a Professor at the University of Calgary and holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Computational Discrete Geometry. His research expertise lies in various aspects of geometry, including combinatorial and computational geometry, as well as discrete geometry. He has an extensive publication record with over 140 research papers and four authored books. Bezdek has served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the e-journal Contributions to Discrete Mathematics and has organized significant academic events, such as the Fejes Toth Lecture Series which commemorates the contributions of Hungarian mathematician Laszlo Fejes Toth. He leads the Centre for Computational Discrete Geometry at the University of Calgary, focusing on both theoretical and applied aspects of geometry. Over the course of his career, he has supervised numerous graduate students and contributed to training the next generation of mathematicians.
