Karounga Diawara is a full professor at Laval University’s Faculty of Law and the director of the Center for Economic Law Studies (CEDE). He holds a doctorate in law (LL.D.) from Laval University, a specialized diploma in European law from the University of Liège in Belgium, and a master's degree in business law from Gaston Berger University in Senegal. A member of the Quebec Bar Association, his research focuses on competition law, including its internal, comparative, and international aspects. His thesis on market power control won the Henri-Capitant prize in 2009 and was published by Éditions Yvon Blais in 2011. He has authored the monograph "Competition Law: Theoretical and Applied Aspects" published by LexisNexis in 2025. Diawara also studies the interactions between competition law and consumer law, legal forms of businesses, corporate social responsibility, and the law of social economy organizations and cooperatives. He teaches competition law and corporate law at Laval University.
