Professor Dr. Karsten Thielen

Biography

Karsten Thielen is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. With a background in medicine and a doctorate in public health, his research focuses on social medicine, specifically examining the interplay between health disparities, work ability, and rehabilitation. He also supervises students in the Medical Science Programme, guiding them through topics related to functional ability and the social consequences of illness. Thielen's work is particularly relevant in understanding social labor market policies and their impact on health outcomes. Through collaborations over the last five years, he has engaged in various research projects aimed at addressing health inequalities and enhancing rehabilitation practices in Europe.
