Dr. Karthikeshwar Kasirajan

Biography

Karthikeshwar Kasirajan is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular surgeon and a Clinical Professor of Vascular Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. He specializes in limb preservation, dialysis access, and management of a variety of conditions including aneurysms, varicose veins, thoracic outlet syndrome, and deep vein thrombosis. His experience focuses on the treatment of aneurysms and the prevention of strokes, providing noninvasive and minimally invasive management whenever possible. Dr. Kasirajan performs surgeries such as stent grafts, aims to shorten hospital stays, and fosters recovery for his patients. With a strong advocacy for early detection of peripheral artery disease, he utilizes the ankle-brachial index (ABI) in routine examinations to help detect blood pressure imbalances in limbs. Dr. Kasirajan is actively involved in research aimed at improving surgical outcomes, participating as an investigator in 40 multicenter studies related to new stent grafts and endovascular technologies. He has presented over 100 times at conferences worldwide on minimally invasive vascular surgery techniques and has contributed extensively to the academic field through his numerous publications and editorial roles.
