Biography

Kasia Paprocki is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research is broadly concerned with the political economies, ecologies, development, and social movements, particularly how development interventions and knowledge systems shape communities and landscapes. At LSE, she co-organizes the Social Life Climate Change seminar series, a cross-disciplinary seminar series that focuses on critical social science perspectives on climate and environmental change. Additionally, she is an affiliate of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and directs the MSc in Environment and Development. Kasia serves as an editor for the Journal of Peasant Studies and received the Philip Leverhulme Prize in Geography in 2025. Her expertise includes political ecology, climate change, and the political economy of development.
