Biography

Kasper Rasmussen is a full professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, where he has been a faculty member since 2013. He holds a University Research Fellowship from the Royal Society, which he was awarded in 2015. Kasper completed his Master’s degree in Computer Science, specializing in Information Technology and Mathematics, at the Technical University of Denmark in December 2005. His master’s thesis focused on optimization in path protection for circuit-switched networks. Kasper earned his Ph.D. under the supervision of Srdjan Capkun at ETH Zurich, where his research concentrated on security issues in secure time synchronization and secure localization, particularly distance bounding. Following his Ph.D., he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California, Irvine, under the guidance of Professor Gene Tsudik. His current research interests include security, wireless networks, protocol design, applied cryptography, security in embedded systems, and cyber-physical systems. He has published numerous papers in these domains, contributing to prestigious conferences and journals.
