Biography

Kasper Wenderich is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, specializing in the fields of chemistry and material science with a particular focus on photocatalysis and electrocatalysis. He obtained his MSc degree in Applied Physics in 2011 from the University of Twente and subsequently completed his PhD in 2016 in the Photocatalytic Synthesis group, where his research centered on the applications of photodeposition of cocatalytic nanoparticles on photocatalytic materials, specifically platinum and tungsten oxide. Following a postdoctoral position at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, he returned to the University of Twente in 2018. His research interests include the development of sustainable energy storage solutions through photocatalytic and electrocatalytic means, with an emphasis on efficient energy storage, CO2 reduction, and advanced material engineering. He actively teaches various bachelor and master courses in the Faculty of Science and Technology and is involved in supervising BSc and MSc theses.
