Biography

Katarzyna Burzynska is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Radboud University, having joined in July 2015. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Lund University, Sweden. During her Ph.D. studies, she spent eight months as a visiting scholar at the Institute of Economics at Academia Sinica in Taiwan. She holds master's degrees from Lund University, specializing in Business Economics with a focus on International Economics and Finance, particularly in China. Burzynska’s research adopts a multidisciplinary approach, mainly drawing from social network perspectives to explain behavioral outcomes of individuals and organizations. Her recent projects explore interorganizational healthcare networks, corporate director networks, gender power dynamics, climate actions, and the socioeconomic effects of tourism networks. Her work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet, Management Organization Review, and the PLOS Journal of Travel Research. She is also affiliated with the Knut Wicksell Centre for Financial Studies at Lund University, where her research is regularly supported by competitive grants.
