Dr. Katarzyna Chalaczkiewicz Ladna

Biography

Katarzyna Chalaczkiewicz-Ladna is a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Glasgow, where she has been a faculty member since 2024. She serves as the Deputy Subject Head for the LLM Corporate Financial Law/Commercial Law Pathway and is the Co-Director of this program. Her research focuses on issues of accountability for board directors, sustainable development, and comparative company law, particularly in relation to financial law and markets. She has experience as a Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and has also worked as a Research Associate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow. Katarzyna obtained her PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2016, where her doctoral research explored the comparative obligations imposed on directors by UK, German, and Delaware law in terms of considering long-term consequences of their decisions. In addition to her academic duties, she is involved in various research projects examining directors' duties and corporate governance, with a strong emphasis on empirical research. Katarzyna has received accolades such as the 2nd prize for her master's thesis from the University of Adam Mickiewicz and has been involved in grant applications and funding proposals for several research initiatives.
