Biography

Katayoun Saatchi is an honorary research associate in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia. She completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry in Tehran, Iran, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in Medicinal Inorganic Chemistry from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Saatchi specializes in the synthesis and modification of small (bio)molecules, including polymers, peptides, and proteins, with a focus on the alteration of radioisotopes and fluorescent molecules for diagnostic imaging and cancer therapy. Her research encompasses the development of novel formulations for drug delivery, radiopharmaceuticals, and therapies utilizing imaging technologies such as SPECT, PET, and CT. Dr. Saatchi has been involved in several grants and has presented her work at international conferences. She is also a course coordinator and instructor for various courses within her faculty.
