Dr. Kate Bolick

Biography

Kate Bolick is a lecturer at Yale University and an accomplished journalist and author. She is known for her notable book, "Spinster: Making Life One's Own," which has received multiple translations worldwide. Bolick has contributed to the introduction of the new Penguin Classics edition of selections from the works of Charlotte Perkins Gilman, including titles like "The Yellow Wall-Paper" and "Herland." In 2019, she contributed to the Library of America's essay collection "March Sisters: Life, Death, Women," and she introduced the reissue of Nancy Hale's 1942 bestselling novel "Prodigal Women," published in 2023. Her personal exploration titled "Friend Phantom" is forthcoming from Random House in 2024. Bolick's work has been featured in numerous prestigious publications, including the Atlantic, Bookforum, ELLE, the New Republic, the New York Review of Books, and the New Yorker online, among others. She previously served as the executive editor of Domino and was a columnist for the Boston Globe's Ideas Section as well as an online literary editor at the Atlantic.
