Biography

Kate de Contreras is a lecturer at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London, where she has been teaching since 2020. Prior to her current position, she taught at Coventry University, Durham University, and Trinity College Dublin. Kate holds an LL.B. and a Ph.D. from the University of Dublin (Trinity College). In her role, she gives lectures and tutorials in Property Trusts Law and has previously taught Contract Law and Private Law Remedies. She is involved in legal academia and has a keen interest in various subjects, including proprietary estoppel and property rights. In recognition of her teaching efforts, Kate was nominated for the King’s Education Award in 2020 and 2021, and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Raised in Dublin and Seville, she is bilingual in English and Spanish, and enjoys reading, playing guitar, and attending theater productions in her spare time.
