Dr. Kate Greasley

Biography

Kate Greasley is an Associate Professor of Law and Tutorial Fellow at Hertford College, Oxford, appointed in 2018. She previously served as a Lecturer in Law at University College London and as a Junior Research Fellow in Law at University College, Oxford. Greasley completed her doctorate in law focusing on ethics and abortion at the University of Oxford in 2014 under the supervision of Professor Leslie Green. Her research interests encompass areas such as medical law ethics, criminal law theory, feminist legal theory, and legal philosophy more broadly. She has written extensively on topics including the ethics of abortion, assisted dying, property rights involving human body parts, sexual offences, and the intersection of pornography and free speech. Her monograph, 'Arguments Abortion: Personhood, Morality, Law,' published by Oxford University Press in 2017, was shortlisted for the Inner Temple Book Prize. Currently, she is working on a co-edited volume titled 'Themes Work of Leslie Green' with Thomas Adams and Denise Réaume.
