Biography

Kate Greenwell is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton, with a focus on the development and evaluation of complex behavioral interventions aimed at improving health and well-being. Her research emphasizes support for carers and families, alongside her work in digital health. She has developed and evaluated numerous digital interventions targeting conditions like eczema, sleep problems, ADHD, asthma, diabetes, and tinnitus, as well as support for caregivers of individuals with Parkinson's disease. Kate is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a Registered Health Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council. Her previous roles include managing research services within the NHS, focusing on self-management strategies for chronic conditions, particularly for Parkinson’s disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She completed her PhD at the University of Nottingham, focusing on a digital intervention designed to support self-management in individuals with tinnitus. Currently, she supervises PhD and Master's students, delivers workshops on the Person-Based Approach to intervention development, and teaches various courses related to Medicine and Health at the university.
