Dr. Kate Kerpen

Biography

Kate E. Kerpen, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Health specializing in neurology and vascular neurology. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania. She pursued her medical education at Stony Brook University, where she developed a passion for neurology. Her residency training was completed at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she served as chief resident and designed curricula for the residency program, fostering her interest in cerebrovascular diseases. Dr. Kerpen completed her fellowship in vascular neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. At NYU Langone, she works primarily as a neurology consultant in the emergency room, managing a wide range of neurological conditions. Dr. Kerpen is dedicated to teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students, emphasizing a humanistic approach to patient care. She believes every patient deserves individualized treatment based on their unique circumstances, which drives her interest in the science of medicine and her commitment to compassionate care.
