Dr. Kate Moore

Biography

Professor Kate Moore is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of New South Wales. She is a qualified urogynaecologist and serves as the Director of the Pelvic Floor Unit at St George Hospital, which acts as a regional referral unit for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Her main research interests include the aetiology of detrusor overactivity, particularly focusing on detrusor muscle contractility and the economic implications of incontinence. Professor Moore emphasizes the importance of defining objective outcome measures and understanding the costs associated with treatments in this field. Over her career, she has authored around 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, contributing significantly to the fields of Gynaecology, Pharmacology, Evidence Based Medicine, and Surgery. She is an active member of several professional societies, including the International Continence Society and the International Urogynaecology Association. Additionally, she holds various editorial positions and leadership roles within medical research foundations.
