Biography

Kate Shaw is a professor at Penn Carey Law, where she joined in January 2024. She previously served as a co-director of the Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. An expert in constitutional law, Shaw has taught courses focused on administrative law, legislation, and the Supreme Court. Additionally, she has contributed to popular writing in outlets such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time, and The Washington Post. Shaw co-hosts the podcast Strict Scrutiny, focusing on the Supreme Court, and is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Public. She is also a public member of the Administrative Conference of the United States.
