Biography

Kate Sullivan de Estrada is an Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations at the University of Oxford, where she specializes in South Asian studies. Kate has held significant positions, including a secondment as Principal Research Analyst at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, where she provided expert testimony for UK parliamentary inquiries. Additionally, she has worked with the Indian Ocean Commission and is an Associate Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. At Oxford, she teaches the MPhil option on International Relations in South Asia and supervises DPhil students at the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies. Moreover, she currently serves as the Director for Contemporary South Asian Studies at her department.
