Dr. Kate Zipay

Biography

Kate Zipay is an Associate Professor in the Organizational Behavior and Human Resources area at the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business, Purdue University. Her research examines the influence of life work on employee emotions, attitudes, and contemporary justice issues impacting employee outcomes. She has published in prestigious journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Before joining the faculty at Purdue, she started her academic career as an Assistant Professor at the Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon. Zipay has received accolades for her teaching, including being named one of Poets & Quants' Top 40 Undergraduate Business Professors in 2021 and receiving the Exceptional Teaching Award at Lundquist College of Business for the academic years spanning 2019-2021. She focuses on preparing students to lead effectively in future organizations to cultivate positive, healthy, and productive workplaces. In her field, she serves on the Executive Committee of the Organizational Behavior division of the Academy of Management and chairs the Making Connections committee, which plans professional development workshops for the Academy's Annual Conference. Additionally, she serves on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Applied Psychology.
