Biography

Katelyn Bird, MD, MS, is a board-certified neurologist and movement disorder specialist at Boston Medical Center and an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Neuroscience at the University of Chicago and earned her Doctor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Bird has gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of individuals with Parkinson's disease, atypical Parkinson's disease, and other movement disorders. She has served as the chief resident during her neurology residency and is actively involved in neurology education, currently directing the Neurology Clerkship and co-directing the PISCEs Neurology Module. Her research interests include medical education, quality improvement, and the study of Parkinson's disease among underserved populations. As a sub-investigator in the PPMI trial, Dr. Bird is dedicated to enhancing accessibility and inclusivity within research engagement for underrepresented populations with Parkinson's disease.
