Katelyn Spillane graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2006 with a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Music. She received her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011, under the supervision of Professor Richard Mathies.
