Biography

Katerina Politi studied Biology at the University of Pavia in Italy. She moved to New York to obtain her PhD in Genetics and Development while working under Argiris Efstratiadis at Columbia University. After graduate school, she joined Harold Varmus's lab at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she began her research on the molecular basis of lung cancer. Dr. Politi continues her work at Yale as a Professor in the Department of Pathology and the Yale Cancer Center. Her research primarily focuses on cell transformation, neoplastic; lung neoplasms; and molecular targeted therapy. Dr. Politi has been involved in many important projects and collaborations, enhancing the understanding and treatment of lung cancer. She is also the Deputy Director of the Yale Cancer Center and leads the Cancer Signaling Networks, focusing on innovative approaches to cancer research and treatment.
