Biography

I am a philosopher specializing in social philosophy at the University of Glasgow. I joined the department as a Lecturer in July 2020, having previously held positions as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham and a Junior Research Fellow at Jesus College, Cambridge. I hold a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Sheffield and an MPhil in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. My research primarily focuses on social philosophy, particularly the ontology of social categories and their relation to systemic injustices. My interests include feminist philosophy and critical philosophy of race, encompassing philosophy of sex and sexuality, as well as social epistemology. I have written on topics such as rape myths, pornography, and gender identity. I am currently working on a monograph titled 'Ontology of Oppression: Race, Gender, Social Construction,' which examines the nature of social categories and their ties to oppression while exploring how emancipatory social movements respond to these categories and their role in shaping identities.
