Biography

Katharine Lewis is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with a specialization in Clinical Haematology at the University of Western Australia. She completed her medical school and specialist training in Haematology at Nottingham and relocated to Perth in 2018. Katharine is currently a Clinical Research Fellow at Linear Clinical Research and has extensive experience as a sub-investigator in clinical trials focusing on lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Notable achievements include her role as principal investigator in phase clinical trials and leading significant international studies on systemic methotrexate for preventing CNS relapse in aggressive B-cell lymphoma, which earned her the ASH-HSANZ Outstanding Abstract award in 2021. In 2022, she was appointed the inaugural Early Career Clinician Researcher by the Australasian Leukaemia Lymphoma Group and received the Cancer Council Early Career WA Cancer Researcher of the Year award. Outside of her professional commitments, Katharine is a wife and mother of young girls and enjoys running. Her work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and health.
