Dr. Katherine Crocker

Biography

Katherine Mims Crocker is a Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Center for Structural Constitution at Texas A&M University School of Law. She holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and an A.B. from Harvard University. Crocker has had a distinguished career, currently serving as an Affiliate at Stanford University's Stanford Constitutional Law Center and previously as a Campbell Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at William & Mary Law School. Her past positions include Associate Professor at William & Mary Law School, Assistant Professor at Duke Law School, and Olin-Smith Fellow Postdoctoral Associate. Her teaching philosophy encourages students to appreciate the nuances and uncertainties within legal doctrines and to understand the role of legal institutions in society. She has clerked for Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court of the United States. In her legal practice at McGuireWoods LLP, she focused on business and appellate litigation, also advocating in civil rights cases. Her research interests center around federal courts and structural constitutional law, specifically issues pertaining to civil rights litigation, constitutional remedies, and judicial federalism.
