Biography

Katherine Hirono is an experienced health equity researcher with a focus on the integration of health policy formation and land use projects. She holds a PhD in Global Health Policy from the University of Edinburgh, a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. Currently, she is an Adjunct Fellow at the International Centre for Future Health Systems at UNSW Australia. Previously, she was part of the Centre for Health Equity Training, Research and Evaluation (CHETRE), where she led innovative work on health impact assessments. Additionally, Hirono is affiliated with Johns Hopkins University as a Principal Consultant for RPS Consulting in the UK & Ireland. Her research interests include health impact assessments, health policies, social determinants of health, and public participation in deliberative democracy.
