Biography

Katherine McArthur graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA (Hons) in Psychology and English Literature in 2004. She then pursued an MSc in Applied Educational Research and a PhD in Counselling at the University of Strathclyde, supported by the Economic and Social Research Council. Her research interests encompass counselling, psychology, education, and social work, with a particular focus on counselling for young people. McArthur is actively involved in school-based counselling initiatives and exploring the experiences of disabled children within the child protection system. Additionally, she is interested in mentoring initiatives for widening participation in Higher Education. In her current role, she teaches and supervises both undergraduates and postgraduates, specializing in developmental psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, and research methods.
