Biography

Katherine Parker is an Associate Professor at the University of San Diego School of Law, where she has been engaged in legal education and practice since she graduated summa cum laude in 2002. Specializing in Civil Litigation, Federal Civil Practice, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Legal Ethics, she has made significant contributions to the legal community through her work as a certified mediator and her active participation in various bar associations. As a member of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Legal Ethics committee, she routinely authors columns on legal ethics. Katherine's leadership roles have included serving as Past President of the San Diego Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and chairing the Leadership Development Academy subcommittee. A mentor to aspiring lawyers, she engages with USD Law students through various initiatives including judging oral arguments and conducting mock interviews. Parker has received multiple awards, including the Tom Homann Law Association’s Co-President’s Award and the Federal Bar Association’s national Robyn J. Spalter Award for Outstanding Achievement, and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Women Influencing Law by the San Diego Business Journal in 2025.
