Biography

Katherine Thompson holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.A. in Education from Wake Forest University. She has taught in various secondary and tertiary settings across the United States, Australia, and Tanzania. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW Sydney, focusing on issues related to LGBTQ+ families’ health, Indigenous education, and the sociocultural contexts of education. In addition to her candidacy, she works as a sessional academic and research assistant in the UNSW School of Education. Her research interests revolve around equity education and the unique challenges faced by diverse communities in educational settings.
