Biography

Katherine Twaddle is an instructor at the Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba. She has a rich career in directing and teaching and has worked with major opera companies in the UK, including the English National Opera and the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. Her research focuses on historical baroque gesture and the physicality of performance, with recent projects exploring theatrical interpretation and creative libretto writing. Additionally, her educational philosophy centers on holistic teaching methods that nurture artistic curiosity and technical excellence among her students.
