Biography

Katherine Vallis undertook specialist training in Clinical Oncology at Hammersmith Hospital and completed her doctoral research at Edinburgh University. In 1995, she was appointed as a Staff Radiation Oncologist at Princess Margaret Hospital and a Scientist at the Ontario Cancer Institute in Toronto. She returned to the UK in 2006 to join the Oxford Institute of Radiation Oncology, where she established the Experimental Radiotherapeutics Group. Her research focuses on understanding and exploiting the biological effects of external beam ionizing radiation and therapeutic radionuclides for solid tumours, including breast, lung, pancreas, oesophageal, and colorectal cancers.
