Biography

Dr. Kathleen Felton, an assistant professor at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine, specializes in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Science in Medical Genetics from the University of Alberta, she is well-versed in pediatric oncology. Dr. Felton completed her medical training at the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary, followed by a pediatrics residency at the University of Saskatchewan and a subspecialty residency in pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Alberta. She leads the pediatric neuro-oncology program in Saskatchewan and is a site principal investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), engaging in international clinical trials for pediatric cancer therapies and supportive care. Her research focuses on collaborative projects concerning pediatric cancers, cancer predisposition, and innovative therapies for patient care. Dr. Felton actively collaborates with neurosurgeon Dr. Julia Radic and is a member of the Canadian pediatric brain tumor consortium, aimed at improving treatment outcomes for children with brain tumors in Saskatchewan.
