Biography

Kathleen L. Keller is a Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Penn State University. She serves as the Director of the Metabolic Kitchen and Children’s Eating Behavior Laboratory. Her research focuses on the neural mechanisms influencing eating behaviors in children, examining genetic factors and the impact of food marketing on childhood obesity. Dr. Keller has played a significant role in investigating individual differences in children’s responses to portion sizes and food marketing. In addition to her research, she teaches courses related to nutrition, including Nutrition 490W and Nutrition 410, among others. With a Ph.D. from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Marquette University, Dr. Keller is committed to educating the next generation of nutrition professionals and is currently accepting graduate students to mentor.
