Dr. Kathleen Swec

Biography

Kathleen Swec, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Yale University. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and completed her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Following her education, she carried out a pediatric residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Swec served as a General Pediatrician in the U.S. Navy for four years, where her experience helped her appreciate the sacrifices made by military families. Additionally, she has a strong interest in assisting children and youth with special healthcare needs and promoting early childhood development. Dr. Swec actively participates in 'Reach Out and Read,' a national nonprofit that focuses on the benefits of reading for young children. She believes in the importance of engaging families during pediatric appointments and uses fun, language-building activities to connect with her young patients and their families. Dr. Swec is dedicated to forming meaningful relationships with her patients and their families, aiming to provide nurturing support as they navigate the challenges of childhood.
