Biography

Kathrin Dörfler researches digital design and robot-supported construction processes, focusing on architecture synthesis and new technologies. In 2019, she joined the Technical University of Munich as a Tenure Track Professor to establish a research group in Digital Fabrication, collaborating between the Department of Architecture and the Department of Civil, Geo Environmental Engineering. She has gained experience as a doctoral student since 2013 and as a postdoc since 2018 at the Gramazio Kohler Research and the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication at ETH Zurich. Her key publications include works on collaborative assembly processes, human-machine interaction in augmented bricklaying, and mobile robotic fabrication, showcasing her contributions to advancing the field of construction robotics.
