Professor Dr. Kathrin Naegeli

Biography

Kathrin Naegeli is a senior scientist leading the TIRLab, embedded in the Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSL). Her research primarily focuses on the surface energy budget (SEB), retrieval of cryospheric landforms, and other SEB relevant variables using remote sensing datasets. She is particularly interested in the integration of field remote sensing data to enhance knowledge about the dynamics of the cryosphere. Kathrin is a member of the Swiss Commission on Remote Sensing (SCRS) and serves as the president of the Swiss Snow, Ice, and Permafrost Society (SIP), underscoring her dual expertise in these fields. Additionally, she co-founded and is a board member of Girls* Ice Switzerland, which is dedicated to making science accessible to everyone.
