Kathryn Else is a Professor of Immunology at the University of Manchester in the Faculty of Life Sciences. Her research focuses on the cellular immune responses to gastrointestinal dwelling nematode parasites, particularly mechanisms of immunity to Trichuris trichiura, which infects millions worldwide, especially in low-income countries. Through her work, she aims to explore methods for the control of Trichuris infections, including drug discovery and vaccine development.
