Kathryn Else is a Professor of Immunology at the University of Manchester in the Faculty of Life Sciences. She obtained her Bachelor's degree with honors in Zoology from the University of Nottingham in 1985 and completed her PhD there in 1989, focusing on aspects of immunity to intestinal nematode parasites. Following her PhD, she pursued her interest in parasite immunology as a post-doctoral training fellow at the University of Manchester, later becoming a Wellcome Trust Fellow and subsequently a Senior Research Fellow in Basic Biomedical Science. Kathryn has been a Senior Lecturer since 2007 and was promoted to Professor in Immunology in 2009.
