Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Kathryn Gunn. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Dr. Gunn is an ocean-focused climate scientist who investigates the drivers of change in the Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica. The seas and oceans are disproportionately important in pacing the consequences of climate change, yet it remains difficult to collect enough data to learn about this remote region. Dr. Gunn employs a combination of physical measurements, such as shipboard temperature and salinity, along with acoustic observations like seismic reflection surveys and model output to understand changes in the Southern Ocean and to consider what to expect in the future. Before joining the University of Southampton, Dr. Gunn was a fellow at Australia’s National Science Agency (CSIRO) and undertook research at the University of Miami. She obtained her Ph.D. from Cambridge University in 2019.
