Biography

Kathryn Macintosh, a talented trombone performer and educator, is based in Canada. She was born in Montreal and spent her formative years in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Kathryn completed her studies at Acadia University and the University of Toronto. In her early twenties, she joined the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra as the Assistant Principal Trombone. In 2013, she founded the C'mon Festival, a chamber music festival aimed at sharing classical music with diverse audiences. Among her notable achievements are the sold-out run of Stravinsky's 'The Soldier's Tale' at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival in 2018 and a performance of the Grondahl Trombone Concerto as a soloist with the Edmonton Symphony. Kathryn has participated in significant events like the League of American Orchestras Conference and her appearance at Carnegie Hall.
