Biography

Kathryn Maier specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. She earned her medical degree from McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she also completed her internship in internal medicine and her residency in ophthalmology, being awarded the title of outstanding resident of the year. Following this, she completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Kathryn is passionate about treating conditions such as congenital cataracts, nasolacrimal duct obstructions, strabismus, and amblyopia in children and enjoys caring for adults with strabismus and double vision. Her interest in medically underserved communities has led her to participate in medical mission trips to Panama, Costa Rica, Morocco, and Guatemala. She is excited to return to her home state of Texas, where she is making significant contributions to the field of pediatric ophthalmology at the Dell Medical School.
