Biography

Professor Kathryn Trevenen is the Interim Director of the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa. Her academic work focuses on Feminist Political Thought, Human Rights, Postcolonial Theory, Queer Theory, LGBTQ Rights, and Cosmopolitan Politics. With a robust background in Political Science, she supervises graduate students and engages in various research projects related to her fields of expertise. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, as well as an MA in Social Political Thought from York University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Manitoba. Throughout her career, she has contributed to the academic community through teaching, supervision of students, and significant research initiatives in feminist and gender studies.
