Biography

Kathy Lynne Rose is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School, bringing over 25 years of experience in transnational banking, capital markets, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and bank regulation. She serves as the Global Director and Counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where she has managed various aspects of client intake management and conflicts assessment processes. In addition to her corporate legal work, Rose regularly consults on ethics issues and teaches continuing legal education seminars on professional responsibility. She is an active member of the New York City Bar Association, contributing to committees focused on Professional Responsibility and Ethics. Furthermore, she has been involved in reviewing and updating the City Bar's White Paper on Advertising and chaired a subcommittee addressing amendments to the New York Code of Professional Responsibility. Prior to her current role, Rose served as General Counsel for the U.S. operations of Creditanstalt-Bankverein Bank Austria Creditanstalt, where she worked on merger documentation for HypoVereinsbank. Rose holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a member of the Journal of Transnational Law and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a B.A. magna cum laude from Brandeis University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She also studied at the University of Bristol in England and obtained an interdisciplinary degree from the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law, graduating with honors.
